Teofimo Lopez can’t catch a break! Following a subpar performance, at best, Keyshawn Davis has called him out for a fight! Earlier this month, ‘The Takeover’ went toe-to-toe with Jamaine Ortiz, winning the fight via a controversial unanimous decision win. However, the incident that started his feud with Davis happened before the Ortiz fight.

‘The Businessman’ Davis never had any issues with Lopez. He might have even admired Lopez. However, that changed when Lopez spoke about how Davis wanted a picture with him in the UFC PI and later wanted to fight him. Per Lopez, Davis had switched sides, and he did not appreciate it, asking him to get a lineal belt first. So, the 10-0 boxer jumped on X today, responding to the statement!

Keyshawn Davis claims Lopez “gotta SEE ME!”

After winning his fight against Jose Pedraza, Davis is adamant about securing a fight against his new rival. He wrote, “I gave bro respect even after we all seen him calling Bud out saying unnecessary things & also saying thing about Shakur. Never got in the middle of that, but then he goes & mention me in an interview for NO REASON.”

It’s worth mentioning that Lopez desperately wants a fight against Terence Crawford, what he claims will solidify his legacy as a great boxer. On the other hand, Lopez criticized Shakur Stevenson for being scared to get hit in front of the world. So, coming to Davis’ tweet, he asserts, “Bro, you brought this upon yourself now you gotta SEE ME!” Nevertheless, this isn’t the first time Davis has called out Lopez for a fight!

Davis picks his opponents strategically

‘The Businessman’ knew who he wanted to fight next right after his win against Pedraza. So, during the post-fight press conference, the up-and-coming boxer stated, “Teofimo [has] been doing a lot of talking lately, so hey, I go up to 140 to fight Teofimo, what’s up.” However, in case Lopez wasn’t ready for him, Keyshawn Davis had another potential name ready.

“If you scared Teofimo, Navarrete. Navarrete is a hell of a fighter. Hats off to Navarrete. It’ll be an honor to get in the ring with you,” said Davis. It’s worth mentioning that Emanuel Navarrete currently holds the WBO super featherweight title and is coming off a majority decision draw in his title fight against Robson Conceicao.

Lopez’s strategy to create drama seems to have landed him in the crosshairs of Keyshawn Davis. However, Davis is less experienced than Lopez, having never held a major title, so a fight between them doesn’t seem possible. Despite that, crazier things have happened in the sport, so it isn’t totally out of the question, especially if Davis manages to capture a title and is willing to move up weight classes. One take at a time

The first time boxing captured my attention, it was because of a line I heard in the film 'Rocky Balboa', a film surrounding boxing. The line went like this, "But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
