Teofimo Lopez Kicks Off Training Camp for George Kambosos Jr. Fight

The unified lightweight kingpin, Teofimo Lopez, is all charged up to enter his first major title defense. Lopez will touch gloves with Australia’s George Kambosos Jr. in a mandatory title defense fight later this year. For now, there are no tentative dates or locations for this fight, but despite that, Lopez has begun his fight camp for the same.

The ‘Takeover’ took it to his official social handle to share a snippet of his grilling workout with his fans.

He wrote, “Kicking off camp strong. Ready to make a major statement this fight. Don’t Blink!

Lopez did heavy bag work in this video, thus showing his strong punching abilities.

In no time, the Brooklyn native has risen to the peak of the 135-pound division. In his last fight, Lopez crucified the Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko in a sheer 12-round tussle. With this win, he made a statement in the lightweight roster, thus becoming the unified champ.

In fact, for his exemplary performance, the ‘Takeover’ won The Ring Magazine Fighter of the year award, and he will want to keep up his exemplary run in the sport to line himself up for the undisputed title fight in the future.
