Teofimo Lopez has voiced his brutally honest opinion on the news about his fight against George Kambosos Jr. The undefeated lightweight did not hold back after the results of the purse bids. However, he also saw the positive side of it.

Lopez will now face his mandatory Kambosos Jr. despite reports suggesting otherwise. However, the two parties could not agree on a deal, and therefore, the IBF called for a purse bid. In a surprising turn of events, Triller won the bid ahead of Top Rank.

As a result, Lopez gave his take on the news. ‘The Takeover’ spoke on the ‘Pug and Copp’ podcast and said, “It sucks to have it go this way. You know, because of the relationship that I’ve had with Top Rank… But it’s more so, the relationship I had with ESPN.”

With this comment, Lopez showed his frustration of not fighting on the famed ESPN network. He then launched an attack against Top Rank’s president, Todd DuBoef. “We got to give kudos to Tod DuBoef for distributing and working on his fighters very well. So, congratulations, Todd DuBoef, you just lost your best fighter from your stable,” said Lopez.

Teofimo Lopez looking at the positives
Lopez made no effort to hide his dismay at the lack of interest from Top Rank. However, the champion seems to be looking ahead at the positives to come from this move.
Lopez took to his Instagram to remind his followers of his mindset. He posted a picture accompanied with the caption, “Had to risk it all just to win BIG! God don’t make no mistakes.”
With this comment, Lopez showed he is looking forward to a bigger earning with Triller.

Given that the winning bid was a whopping $6 million, Lopez can expect the biggest pay-day of his career from his next fight. Therefore, it appears the champion is unbothered by the fact Top Rank did not win the bid.
