Teofimo Lopez: “We got the job done”
The newly minted champion has no shortage of options after his statement win over ‘Hi-Tech’ Lomachenko. Kevin Iole broached a potential opponent that has been associated with Lopez for a while now in WBC lightweight champion, Devin Haney. However, the new undisputed champion wanted the challengers to go through the same rigorous grind that he’s been through.

He said, “I think that these guys, they need me. You know what I mean, I don’t need them… We are the kings at 135. We own and we run 135. I think a lot of them are just… they just want to get a piece of the pie. I think that’s not gonna work. They have to do their part, we did our part. We got the job done. We did things that they didn’t wanna do. But we stepped up to the plate and chose to do that and we got the victory.”
