Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos Jr.‘s feud has been an ongoing affair ever since their November 2021 bout. And it looks like it’s not ending anytime soon. After a period of peaceful co-existence, the two are now back at each other’s throats. It all began with the Ring Magazine podcast a few days ago. During his appearance, the ‘Takeover’ casually remarked that he wasn’t tired at all after his 12-round victory over Steve Claggett in June 2024 and suggested bringing back 15-round fights, as was the norm before 1982. This post caught Kambosos’ attention, and he immediately took on X to comment, “15? Stop it! Such a capper 🧢 ☠️.”
To which, the Brooklyn native reminded him of the deal he made with His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, hinting a match like that might not be impossible to make in the future. Kambosos decided to take it up a notch and replied, “Your not the only bruv get off your high horse son, you got plonked off it years ago 🤣🫠,” referring to Teofimo Lopez’s loss at his hands. This may have offended Lopez a bit because the ‘Takeover’ took it up a notch with his reply.
In a post on X, Lopez accused the Sydney native of not paying the alleged $350,000 he owed to his former manager Peter Kahn, following a 2022 lawsuit for breach of contract. In the same post, Lopez also wrote, “And who you fighting against? Your father threw the towel against LOMA lol,” reminding him of his knockout loss to Vasyl Lomachenko in May 2024. This may have touched a nerve, as the former unified lightweight champion then decided to take it to a whole another level by making the feud personal.

The 21-3 boxer, in his reply, wrote, “I paid with your blood Fugazi (fake),” in a reference to his 2021 win. George Kambosos then took the online altercation a step further by mentioning Teofimo Lopez’s ongoing divorce with his ex-wife. “Did you pay your ex-wife yet? Or did she take everything and now your begging 🤣.” He further threw a personal jab at Lopez’s alleged financial struggles.
I paid with your blood Fugazi did you pay your ex-wife yet? Or did she take everything and now your begging 🤣 big guy haha i battered the shit out of you and yep we doing a big big show not a 500 seat YMCA like you fight in, better guy than Steve Carrot like you fought last.…

“I battered the sh*t out of you and yep we doing a big big show not a 500 seat YMCA like you fight in, better guy than Steve Carrot like you fought last,” added the Australian in his lengthy post. And if you thought that was all, nope. In the same post, Kambosos also stated, “Maybe your father should have thrown the towel in for you when I man-slaughtered you, it would have saved you 2 weeks in the ICU.” Finishing his long tirade, Kambosos alleged Teofimo Lopez’s father of being “c*ked of his head” before threatening to make it physical if he wanted to.
After the tweet began to gain traction, the fight shifted to the comments section of the post where the two decided to duke it out again, verbally, of course.

Teofimo Lopez responds to George Kambosos’ personal insults
Following the eruption of online insults, Teofimo Lopez didn’t hold back. He criticized Kambosos for his inability to handle conflict calmly, stating, “LMFAO! Yo, guys, all he has is this! Losing your touch on the “X” app, too, oh boy. Poor Georgie!”
But Kambosos fired back once again, boasting about his ability to sell out arenas and stadiums while mocking Lopez for fighting in comparatively smaller venues. He wrote, “But I’m still selling out arenas and stadiums while your fighting in YMCAs 🤣 nothing poor on this side after I beat you badder than you daddy did 😳🤫.”

While fans eagerly hope to see the ‘Takeover’ and the ‘Ferocious’ face off in the ring once again, it might not be possible, at least for a while. After his unification bout with Richardson Hitchins sometime this summer, the Brooklyn native is poised to move up to 147 lbs and face off against IBF champion Jaron Ennis in October. And if Teofimo Lopez manages to win both matches, he may get the chance to face the winner of Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia rematch in 2026. With a packed calendar, it does not look like Lopez has any room to resolve past feuds at least until mid-2026. That leaves with only one place for this rivalry to exist for the time being—online.
But let’s not forget, George Kambosos Jr too, has his upcoming match-up scheduled for March at 140 lbs somewhere in Australia. The details of his opponent still remain unclear. This uncertainty leaves fans wondering whether Lopez and Kambosos will ever settle their differences in the ring or whether this heated exchange will remain just another chapter in the ongoing saga of their rivalry.
