Teofimo Lopez has had a rapid rise to the top of the lightweight division. The undefeated puncher is a world champion despite having only sixteen professional bouts. However, the American has hinted at his hunger for more.
Lopez is one of the four young superstars in the 135 lbs category, and ahead of his mandatory title defense against George Kambosos Jr., he has teased a link-up with multi-weight champion Canelo Alvarez.
The 16-0 fighter spoke to FightHype.com and said, “Yea, I would like to [link up with Alvarez] you know. I would like to. I just want to make sure that, you know, at the same time, on our end, we’re also all good.”

The ‘Takeover’ then added, “I don’t want to interfere in his training, you know. I don’t want to interfere with his camp. Come in at one day, he’s probably sparring and needs everything quiet, you know.”
Therefore, this comment showed that Lopez would join Canelo Alvarez’s training only if it matched their respective schedules. However, the prospect of Lopez sparring Alvarez would be exciting for fans across the world.
