Now, the location and date of the bout has been revealed. The duo will contend with each other in a 12-round war on June 5 in Miami.

Teofimo Lopez’s manager, David McWater, recently interacted with Ring TV. Here he shed some light on the Lopez vs Kambosos Jr. clash.

“Miami will be great for him, He grew up right there. The family left Brooklyn when he was 8, so he was in that area for ten years,” he said.

The ‘Takeover’s last in-ring appearance was against the Ukrainian, Vasyl Lomachenko. The fight went the distance, and the American secured a unanimous decision win.

Lopez even won The Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year for his enthralling performance against ‘Loma’. With that win, Lopez solidified his resume with 16 wins and 0 losses. Moreover, he established himself as the unified lightweight stalwart.

Ever since then, the 23-year-old has been asking for a rugged contender to defend his titles. And it seems like his mandatory, George Kambosos Jr., is just the ideal fit for the same.
