WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford has shared his views on Mike Tyson and his return to boxing. The 54-year-old Tyson made his comeback to the sport on November 28 in an exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr. The fight ended in a draw; however, ‘Iron Mike’s’ fitness impressed many fans across the world.

Despite this, Crawford doesn’t believe he will cut it with the current crop of heavyweights.

‘Bud’ Crawford took to his Twitter to share his opinion on the whole matter. He said, “Let’s all be real for a moment. Tyson can not f**k with them big boys out there so stop trying to get that man hurt. I wouldn’t wanna see my guy go back out there it’s over with.”

Thus suggesting that despite the performance, there is no way that the legend of the sport should compete against the current fighters.

Mike Tyson already said he is ready to continue to fight, as long as they are Legends Only League fights. He even said he would be willing to get into the ring with the likes of Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and Deontay Wilder- as long as it’s for charity.

Will Mike Tyson really fight the current heavyweights?

Fellow legendary heavyweight George Foreman made a bold statement. He claimed that if Tyson’s team were to manage him right, he could still become the world heavyweight champion. As expected, fans did not welcome this statement. Despite the desire from Tyson himself, there is no way a 54-year-old can fight at the level of the current crop of heavyweights.

One should also consider the fact that the heavyweight division is the most exciting division in the sport; and there are many young, talented heavyweights on the horizon. If Mike Tyson wanted to take over the division, he made his comeback at least 5 years too late. Do you think Tyson will face any of the current heavyweights? Or does ‘Bud’s’ tweet have some weight behind it?
