The WBO welterweight champ, Terence Crawford, was getting aligned to fight long-time rival Errol Spence Jr. It was the most awaited fight at the 147-pound landscape which carried momentous hype. But the fight couldn’t reach terms, and it fell through for some reasons.

Despite that, Crawford’s promoter, Bob Arum asserted on setting ‘Bud’ up with either Manny Pacquiao or Shawn Porter. This news somehow reached ‘Showtime’, and he took it to his Twitter handle to call Crawford out.

Subsequently, Crawford took a dig at Porter in his own eccentric way and wrote, “Just stay on standby because now you trying me.”

‘Showtime’ last fought in August 2020 against Sebastian Formella and claimed a unanimous decision win to secure the WBC Silver welterweight title. Porter is a former champion, looking to reclaim the throne he lost to Errol Spence Jr. in 2019.

The Ohio native has expressed his interest in fighting Crawford several times. More than ‘Bud’, he’s keen on bagging that title to signify his stint yet again.

But since the Filippino Senator has arrived in the picture, it seems Shawn Porter might have to wait a bit more to battle out Crawford.

Though Bob Arum inclined towards a matchup between Pacquiao vs Crawford, he also talked about approaching Shawn Porter’s corner if Pacquiao doesn’t confront ‘Bud’.

Shawn Porter is a true veteran of the sport who has competed with some of the biggest names in the welterweight roster. Ever since he lost his titles, Porter polished himself up to an even better version than before.

In his current momentum, ‘Showtime’ will look to contend with Crawford as early as May. However, there’s been no official news from both their promoters regarding a fight between the two.

But if the duo somehow gets aligned to fight each other for the title, needless to say, it’ll be an exemplary show for the fans.
