‘Bud’ Crawford’s mandatory title defense against Shawn Porter will take place at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The fight will air on ESPN+ PPV, which means users will have to pay for the subscription as well as the PPV separately. The champion commented after his proposed fight became a done deal.

Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter purse 

The WBO Welterweight title bout between the hard-hitting Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford and Shawn ‘Showtime’ Porter will attract a lot of PPV buys. ESPN reported the purse for the Welterweight showdown and guaranteed Terence Crawford upwards of $6 million. Meanwhile, Porter is set to earn at least $4 million.

This matchup will be one of the best bouts of the year. Crawford, the undefeated champion, boasts a record of 37 wins and 0 losses. Crawford’s last fight was against Kell Brook in November last year. Hence, the unbeaten champion will enter the ring after a year out of action.

His opponent Shawn Porter boasts a record of 31 wins, 3 losses, and 1 no contest. ‘Showtime’ Porter is no pushover, as he has managed to push Errol Spence Jr to the limit. Following his defeat to ‘The Truth’, he beat Sebastian Formella to become the division’s silver champion.

Terence Crawford, recognized as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters currently, has had a hard time fighting top-tier opponents. We can attribute this to the fact that Crawford fights under Top Rank promotions. Whereas, all the 0ther top-tier contenders fight under the PBC promotions umbrella.

A win against Porter will give him the opportunity to call out the likes of Errol Spence Jr and Yordenis Ugas for unification bouts. Hence, this fight promises to be a high stakes hard-hitting slugfest. It will go down on November 20.
