It has been almost three years since Logan Paul made his pro wrestling debut with the WWE, and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that it has been quite fruitful. A nine-month WWE United States Championship reign, WrestleMania matches against the likes of Rey Mysterio, Seth Rollins, and L.A. Knight, followed by a recent confrontation with CM Punk—the YouTuber-turned-wrestler has been flying high with his role in the Stamford-based promotion. On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the Maverick will take on the biggest challenge of his WWE career in the Elimination Chamber.

It’s as if professional wrestling runs in his blood, and after trying his hands on everything, he has finally found his place. That is not just the fans’ thinking; even former five-division champion Floyd Mayweather thinks the same. In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the boxing legend appreciated Logan Paul’s efforts in his new gig. However, remaining true to his nature, he couldn’t resist slipping in a subtle jab.

Floyd Mayweather piqued by the excessive clinching

The conversation started when Fallon asked Money Mayweather about the Jake PaulMike Tyson bout. Mayweather immediately chuckled over the question before dismissing it as a serious fight. It is a well-known fact that the 50-0 boxer shares a complex relationship with the Paul Brothers. He had an exhibition fight with Logan Paul in 2021, and the fight did very well financially despite his hat fiasco with Jake Paul, where the two got into a violent scuffle.

On being asked about a rematch with ‘The Maverick’ Tyson-Paul style, Floyd Mayweather replied, “Me and Logan, we did an exhibition and that’s why he moved to WWE. Because he wanted to hold me the whole night,” in a sarcastic tone. According to the boxing legend, instead of trading punches, the Westlake native was constantly clutching and holding him. Obviously, it was Paul’s tactic to avoid the 48-year-old from landing his deadly punches.

However, Floyd Mayweather thinks that because of the clinching skills the 29-year-old showcased, “I think WWE is good for Logan.” Even though Mayweather couldn’t help himself from taking a sly dig, getting his validation must be a huge deal for Logan Paul. Furthermore, the Grand Rapids native has also made it clear that Paul should stay in WWE rather than putting the gloves back. And with the biggest night of his WWE career right around the corner, it does not look like The Maverick would want to leave wrestling anytime soon.

The biggest night of Logan Paul’s WWE Career

On March 1, Logan Paul would headline the Elimination Chamber in Toronto alongside John Cena, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and Damian Priest. With the WWE title opportunity at WrestleMania on the line, it is a significant event for Logan Paul.

A few weeks ago, there were rumors of Paul returning to the boxing ring against Conor McGregor. However, with the fight falling apart, Maverick has no other reason to put on the gloves again. Moreover, last year, while talking to Fred Talks Fighting, the Ohio native made it clear that he will “only hop back in the ring with a fight that excites” him.

However, if the fight against McGregor isn’t happening, nothing sounds more exciting than WrestleMania, does it? What do you think about Logan Paul’s career in WWE? Let us know your thoughts down below.
