David Benavidez’s career hasn’t progressed linearly. The ‘Mexican Monster’ has witnessed numerous setbacks in his professional career. The most recent one occurred in 2020. Benavidez lost his title belt after failing to make weight ahead of his fight against Roamer Alexis Angulo. This was the second time Benavidez had to give up his belt. The first time was in 2018 when he tested positive for cocaine.
As devastating as not making weight was for the 26-year-old was at that time, it was an excellent opportunity for Plant to mock and call him out. ESPN Ringside took to Twitter to post the trolling video of Plant.
In the video, Plant is seen imitating a cry and wrote, “I thought a Fatboy who keeps losing his belt but can’t get that b—– back sum said.”
This was Plant’s dig at Benavidez’s past as he was overweight as a youngster. But, the body transformation Benavidez has been through is commendable.
