Over the weekend, Chris Eubank Jr. defeated Liam Smith in their rematch. Their first clash took place earlier this year on 21 January and Smith fetched himself a fourth-round victory. However, fate had it for them to meet again. Despite losing to, ‘Beefy,’ in devastating fashion, the 33-year-old had all the confidence in the world to avenge his defeat and he did just that. Not only did he defeat the 35-year-old but did it in a stunning and dominating fashion. Moreover, the fans are eager to see more activity in the division after this big fight. There are plenty of opponents lined up for him and one of them is Conor Benn. The two were set to face each other in the winter of last year.
However, Benn failed his pre-fight drug test, and the bout was canceled. But the two may face each other next after Eubank Jr’s recent win. Sunny Edwards, the flyweight champion expresses a similar line of thought and made it evident during the bout. However, the fans stormed at him with their distinct opinions.

Why fight Benn? Why not chase a world title? Surely his pantomime villain act has meant he’s earned decent money, far exceeding anyone else at non title level so go for the legacy. I maybe an old romantic but surely that’s what it’s about isn’t it?
