Taylor and Persoon collided for the first time in June 2019. Unlike most of her fights, Taylor found herself in trouble multiple times in the bout. Although Taylor was slightly more effective with her punches, Persoon landed more punches than the former during their match.

Delfine Persoon wants to make things right

Persoon felt she was robbed of the decision. She believes that she stunned Taylor during their bout inside the Madison Square Garden.

“The first fight, people talked, ‘Katie [Taylor] won,’ other people talked, ‘I won.’ It’s up to me to prove that I also deserve the titles. And that I stunned her in New York. And for us, that was not a correct decision,” Delfine Persoon said during the pre-fight press conference.
