Mikey Garcia and Sandor Martin fought for ten straight rounds on Saturday night. The Spaniard came out victorious at the end by way of a majority decision. While this was one of the biggest upsets of all time, fans seemed to be more involved in something else that went down between Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez Jr after the event.

Haney and Lopez Jr. got into a heated verbal exchange after the Martin-Garcia event. They argued and took shots at each other for not agreeing to a fight between the two. Eddie Hearn then stepped in, intervened, and the duo finally parted ways.

Following this clash, the unified champ’s father, Teofimo Lopez Sr. then got into another scuffle with Eddie Hearn. It is unclear what set him off to call Hearn a “pussy“. He ended this rant by asking Hearn to not disrespect his son.

That’s your boy, that’s your boy, that’s his boy bro, that’s why he talks like that. That’s a p**y right there bro. I know pu**ies, I’m from the f***ing gutter.

Bro, we tried to fight him for the longest. Ask Bob Arum!

You think he’s going to beat my son? I’ll bet you a f***ing 100 grand right now!

Are you kidding me? They didn’t show up! We followed Lomachenko and we not going to fight that bum? Don’t disrespect my son!” said Teofimo Lopez Sr.

Twitter reacts to Devin Haney vs Teofimo Lopez clash

Soon after the two lightweight champions ran into each other after the Martin-Garcia event, Twitter blew up and this clash stole the spotlight from the actual main fight.

Many reacted to a video of them going at each other. Even Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez Jr’s next opponent, George Kambosos Jr., tweeted out.

Some questioned why Lopez Sr. started screaming and raising his voice at Eddie Hearn when Haney and his team had already left. To this, Devin Haney replied by labeling Lopez’s corner as “frauds”.

The Australian challenger, George Kambosos Jr, tagged Haney and said that Lopez would duck and stall the fight. Instead, he offered to fight him in his place if he gets past him on November 27.

Haney then responded to Kambosos by asking him to “handle business” so that they can set up a real undisputed fight. However, he added that he still might want to fight Lopez even if he doesn’t win against the Australian.

One also pointed out that when Teofimo brought up the Bob Arum meeting in front of Haney and his father, they both deflected and ignored that question.
