Three-division world champion, Gervonta Davis, is all set to give the lightweight division one of its biggest fights yet. He will be facing lightweight phenom, Ryan Garcia, in a sensational April 2023 showdown. Meanwhile, Davis had been very open about his camaraderie with fellow boxer and four-division world champion, Adrien Broner. And he even made it a point to talk about Broner during his recent press conference. And, Broner was undoubtedly touched by the gesture.

Davis and Garcia officiated their fight with a presser in New York. Post the presser, Davis took the time to sign gloves for fans, while also being interviewed. In conversation, the interviewer delved into his relationship with Broner.

And asked him if he learned anything from him. Davis responded, by saying, “Um, I learned a lot. I learned a lot from AB. You know, AB was the first person to ever mention (about) me to Al Haymon. So I’ll always, you know, respect AB as a big brother.”

He further added, “He actually did a lot for me, like coming up type sh*t. Like having me around, like (telling me) what to do, what not to do. And I learned a lot, like lessons and things like that.”

Broner who was touched by Davis’ words, announced that they were ‘locked in for life’. It is worth noting that Broner had previously even predicted the outcome of Davis vs Garcia.

Fans believe that Adrien Broner deserves more respect

Boxing fans were elated to see the heartwarming camaraderie between Davis and Broner. In fact, a lot of them took to the comments to share their thoughts about the same.

CallemCardy felt that Broner does not get enough respect. He said, “So many AB took under his wing. 4 time champ. Bro doesn’t get the respect he deserves.”

Meanwhile, a  few fans were touched by Davis’ statements. Arkitek Seven mentioned, “I really like this kid a lot. And salute to AB on throwing the rope back man. They’ve demonized that man.”

Similarly, YL stated, “Didn’t cost him zero dollars to just be 100. Didn’t take no light from his shine. That’s what you call authentic.”

Additionally, MackTheCreditTutor wished to see Broner in action again. He mentioned, “Can’t wait to see you back in action champ we miss you!!!”
