Despite being the underdog, Caleb Plant has his wife’s belief that he can beat Canelo Alvarez. Following Alvarez’s win over Billy Joe Saunders, ‘Canelo’ and ‘Sweethands’ currently share all the 168 lbs titles.

Hence, a unification bout would bring the titles under one roof, citing an intriguing matchup between Plant and Alvarez. While most of the boxing fans would favor Alvarez to win, Caleb Plant’s wife, Jordan Plant, doesn’t believe the same.

Speaking with the ES NEWS, she said, “That’s the fight that will happen. Caleb [Plant] is gonna be the first undisputed super middleweight world champion in boxing history.”

21-0 as a professional, Caleb Plant, who has been the IBF titleholder since 2019, has claimed three successful title defenses. Nevertheless, fans continue to doubt his chances ahead of the bout which may go down in September. Despite being the sole undefeated boxer in the mix, boxing fans still consider Caleb Plant an underdog before Canelo Alvarez.

Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant -Preview

The P4P king, Alvarez, is just short of the IBF world title to become the first undisputed unified super middleweight champion. He claimed the WBC, WBA, and Ring titles in December 2020 by taking out Callum Smith.

Then after a successful defense against Avni Yildirim, Alvarez added the WBO strap on his shoulder by stopping Billy Joe Saunders in May. Hence, IBF champion Caleb Plant may not seem a threat to the Mexican giant. However, he can shatter all the odds in a fight.
