Four-division world champion, Adrien Broner, is currently preparing for an explosive comeback with a sensational showdown against Ukrainian boxer Ivan Redkach. This BLK Prime-promoted 10-round welterweight tango will mark Broner’s return to the ring after a hiatus of almost 2 years. Meanwhile, it can be said that along with a myriad of fans, Broner also has a choice bag of haters too. In fact, fans recently took him to task after he referred to himself as ‘one of the greats’ in a recent podcast.

Broner was talking on the latest episode of the ‘Last Stand Podcast’ with Brian Custer. Moreover, in conversation, he delved into news about his upcoming opponent. And also gave an insight into the potential fights for the future.

Adrien Broner believes that he is one of the greats of boxing

During the podcast, Custer made it a point to ask Broner if he believes that he is still an elite fighter. And also enquired if the years of inactivity and partying has caught up with him.

In response, Broner said, “I’m not just one of the elite. I’m one of the greats of all time.”

He further gave context, by saying, “You know when I’m done. I’ll be in the books forever man. And I’ve done some, that not too many people have done in the sport. And I’m gonna do more in the sport. So just keep watching.”

Broner added that the upcoming phase of his career will be very different from his past. And also attributed this change to having learned from his past mistakes.

Fans react to Broner’s statement

It can be said that boxing fans were not too pleased with Broner’s statement. Moreover, they took to social media to share their thoughts about the same.

A user did not hold back from calling Broner ‘delusion’ for his statement.

Meanwhile, a few fans felt that it was confusing that Broner was a four-division world champion.

A fan pointed out his losses in the sport. While another fan called him the ‘biggest fraud in boxing’.
