Gervonta Davis didn’t just beat Frank Martin last weekend, he beat Martin in style! According to various sources, the Baltimore native was rocking a pair of custom made Chrome Hearts boxing shoes, as he danced around the ring to knock ‘The Ghost’ out in the eighth round. Interestingly, this wasn’t even the first time Davis entered the ring wearing shoes that cost more than a regular house.

Last year in April, ‘Tank’ Davis took on Ryan Garcia while sporting a Nike classic–the ‘Skunk’ SB Dunk High. It’s unlikely that his shoes would have boosted his performance, but the results make a case of their own. Regardless, some rumors suggest his latest fashion choice comes with an unbelievable price tag, which is taking over the internet.

Pay top dollar for exclusivity

Reportedly, Gervonta Davis’ custom made Chrome Hearts boxing shoes set the boxer back a whopping $100,000. The same was confirmed by a user named Drop on X, who wrote, “Damn they said the boxing shoes Tank had on was custom Chrome Heart[s] boxing shoes valued at $100,000”. But why are they so expensive?

Not too long ago, the brand started popping off in the fashion industry, especially influencing streetwear and pop culture. Having founded in 1988, it has grown into a behemoth in the fashion industry after multiple collaborations with musicians and other well-known personalities. However, the main reason behind their insane price tags is much understandable.

Products from Chrome Hearts are often custom made and are one-off items, which are made specifically for the party ordering the product, making it truly unique in a world obsessed with mass production. These products don’t just highlight its uniqueness, but also act as a status symbol for the company’s clients. The shoes aside, Gervonta Davis once donned custom shorts and shoes to honor an NBA legend!

In honor of late Kobe Bryant

In December 2021, ‘Tank’ Davis took on last-minute replacement Isaac Cruz at Staples Center, Los Angeles, wearing Mamba-themed shorts and shoes. Davis stepped into the ring, donning shorts decked with the Lakers colors and stitched Kobe’s famous #24 and #8. Even the kicks he was wearing resembled Black Mamba’s famous ‘Grinches’.

After a difficult twelve round battle, defeating Cruz, Davis even gave a shout out to the late NBA legend in front of the crowd that included Magic Johnson, Kawhi Leonard and Dwight Howard. Davis said, “L. A. We did it, baby!”  On January 26, 2020, the basketball legend passed away during a helicopter crash alongside his 13-year-old daughter.

Gervonta Davis never misses the opportunity to make a statement, and his rumored $100,000 shoes are no different. However, with his fashion choices, it’s pretty clear that he is not just dominating the sport but also the fashion industry. What did you think of the shoes?
