“The Level of Disrespect Is Incredible”: Derek Chisora’s ‘Utterly Ridiculous’ £200,000 Bet on Jake Paul vs Carl Froch Leaves Boxing World Furious

Every boxing fan has a favorite ahead of a boxing fight, and it’s only natural for a fan to want their favorite to win. But heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora has left the boxing world startled with his choice of favorite. Ahead of his fight with the younger Fury brother, Jake paul has been exchanging verbal jabs on Twitter with the former super middleweight champion Carl Froch. The 45-year-old former champ criticized Paul’s professional boxing career, to which the Ohio-raised-sensation replied by calling him out. What started on a light note has now become a verbal Twitter battle between the both.

Derek Chisora has bet in favor of Jake Paul if the fight between Froch and Paul ever comes to fruition. Chisora’s £200,000 bet has infuriated the boxing community.

A bet to remember…

In an interview with IFL TV, Derek Chisora discussed the exchanges between Paul and Froch. Chisora went on to predict a potential fight between the two. He said, “Carl Froch should go in there, get beaten up, and get his cheque. He would beat Carl Froch; he would beat Carl Froch. I’m willing to bet £200,000 that Carl Froch would get his a** dealt with. I’m being 100% serious.”

Chisora agreed to bet £200,000 on Jake Paul winning a fight against Carl Froch. Chisora thinks Froch should show up, “get his a** beaten up” by Paul, and “collect his cheque”. Froch is a former four-time super-middleweight champion. He retired in 2016 with a professional record of 33 wins with 24 knockouts, against 2 losses.

Jake made an offer to Froch to fight Anderson Silva in the undercard of his next event. If Froch won the bout, Jake would fight him next. Froch posted a video on Twitter in response to Paul’s offer. Currently, there are no talks between the fighters for a fight as Paul is busy ahead of his fight against Tommy Fury.

Fans react to Chisora’s bet

The bet has infuriated fans worldwide. James has no doubt Froch will end Paul in a boxing matchup and thinks Chisora choosing Paul over Froch is “disrespectful” to the former world champ.

DJ thinks that Jake Paul is not ready for someone like Froch.

Derek Downie took a dig at Chisora and said he’s using his payout from the last fight against Tyson Fury to be betting like that.

Brady thinks it is embarrassing for Chisora to bet like that.
