The former world’s strongest man, Hafthor Bjornsson, is one of those athletes who has successfully transitioned into boxing. With a few powerful performances under his belt, the towering behemoth has left fans in anticipation of his future bouts. Bjornsson recently opened up about his future plans regarding the sport.

Bjornsson, who is known for playing The Mountain in Game of Thrones, was talking on his channel. In conversation, he opened up about his plans for his boxing career. Bjornsson said, “It’s just a lot of questions that go through my mind. And a lot of questions are going on on the internet. Like who is Thor fighting next? Is fighting Tyson Fury? Is he fighting this guy, that guy?”

Bjornsson mentioned that while there talks about a fight between Fury and himself. However, the potential matchup could not be brought to fruition. And that he had made a difficult decision about his career.

Talking about the same, he further added, “I’ve made a decision to move on from boxing. To not compete in boxing again. To say goodbye to boxing. And just not fight again.”

Moreover, he mentioned that he had a good run of two and a half years in the sport. And that even though people doubted him in the beginning, he was able to prove them wrong.

When Hafthor Bjornsson faced Eddie Hall

Hafthor Bjornsson and Eddie Hall are two of the biggest names in the World’s Strongest Man scene. Hence, boxing fans were excited at the prospect of the duo facing each other in the boxing ring.

Bjornsson had three boxing matches under his belt when he challenged Hall, who was fighting for the first time. The fight was first announced on November 2020. And further went to take place at the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Stadium on March 19, 2022.

Moreover, Bjornsson went on to win the bout by decision.
