Dillian Whyte is gearing up for a massive bout this weekend against Alexander Povetkin. He took the fight as he wishes to stay active, while he waits for Tyson Fury to either fight Deontay Wilder or opt to fulfill his mandatory commitments.
Despite having his eye on the Russian, Whyte opted to fire some shots at ‘The Gypsy King’ and question the truth behind his name.
‘The Body Snatcher’ targeted Fury over his first name, which he alleges was changed to capitalize upon and build his brand. He said, “My real name is Dillian. I know his real name is Luke.”

Luke is listed as Tyson Fury’s middle name, but Whyte says he changed it to Tyson to capitalize on the success associated with the name. This is because of the legend of yesteryear heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. He even said that the comments aren’t baseless and anyone who doubts him can look for data on the internet.

“He changed it to Tyson to make himself sound harder. People can have a little look around on the internet and see for themselves. In boxing, the name Tyson is a lot more sellable than Luke,” opines Whyte.
Fury has a name, and the monikers work wonders when building a pugilist and selling fights. However, he has an undefeated streak to back it up. He has beaten big names like Klitschko and became the first man to draw with and then beat Deontay Wilder.
Why has Dillian Whyte attacked Tyson Fury?
Whyte has attacked ‘The Gypsy King because the WBC champion has constantly changed his stance regarding facing him. First, the idea of a franchise champion was explored, but that got brushed aside. Later, the Anthony Joshua fights were to take place and Fury even said he will fight Whyte.

“He might say he wants to fight me sometimes, but how can you trust a man who doesn’t even use his own name?”
In a bizarre twist, Whyte labels himself as the true gypsy king and says he got a flat cap that he can use. The flat cap is a common feature when Tyson Fury makes appearances.
