Fans have their reason as to why they started watching boxing. Some might like the brutality and unpredictability of the sport. For others, it’s a display of dedication and hard work. It doesn’t matter what the reason for a fan is; there is a movie franchise that has made its place in the sport. The ‘Rocky’ franchise is considered one of the most sensational boxing franchises ever made. The story of a talented boxer struggling to make ends meet and getting a shot at the heavyweight title is somewhat close to the viewer’s hearts. Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone commenced his professional career with this move, and since then, there has been no looking back. As thrilling as the movie is, the news of Stallone not starring in Creed III shocked the fans. And, with any other news, there were a lot of speculations about the same.

A forgotten interview clip has been taking turns on the internet wherein Stallone explains his reason for not returning to play ‘Rocky Balboa’ in the third iteration of the creed franchise.

Stallone discusses why he chose not to return in Creed III

Prominent American TV host Gary G. Hamilton took to his Facebook and posted a video from his interview with the 76-year-old actor. In the posted clip, Hamilton asks Stallone about his decision not to return for Creed III, and the actor explains the reason with calm and composure.

In response, Stallone said, “The producers and Michale B Jordan decided to go in a direction that is radically different than Rocky Films. It deals with something that I find not relatable that’s why I bowed out.”  According to Stallone, the movie did not move in the direction he had in mind. He added, ” The rocky in the film they’re doing. I was out of the bucket. Rocky needs to be one on one with Adonis creed for it to really work, I think. Like Micky and Rocky.”

In the interview, the actor did not rule out a return for Rocky Balboa in the subsequent iterations of the Creed franchise. When asked if he would return if the movie required the presence of Rocky Balboa, he replied, “Of course.”  Recently, an old behind the scene video of Sylvester Stallone with Antonio Tarver surfaced on the internet.

Fans react to Stallone’s clarification

Silas Crumbo is happy that Stallone clarified the doubts. He wrote, “Maaaaan glad you asked that and he cleared it up cuz the narratives out there made it seem like he was salty about it but this explanation made sense and he even said creed 4 if it calls for it he’s there.”

Darnald Kimble Jr. enjoyed watching the whole interview. He commented, “Great interview!”
