Former world heavyweight champion Julius Francis once dared to step foot inside the ring with the formidable Mike Tyson. Francis was also recently in the news for knocking out a rouser outside a restaurant. Moreover, a recent update mentioned he will not be facing any trouble with the law for the incident.

The Metropolitan Police issued a statement detailing the scenario. It was mentioned, “The incident took place shortly after 17.00hrs on Saturday 11 June. Officers were called and attended the venue. A group had been ejected and one male customer had become involved in a confrontation with security staff.”

Moreover, the update also stated that the officers have reviewed the CCTV footage and spoken to all the parties involved. Incidentally, they also added that the probe against Tyson’s former opponent will be dropped.

What went down at the BOXPARK Wembley?

Francis currently works as a security guard outside the BOXPARK Wembley in London. The now-viral incident took place on June 11.

A ramble rouser in a blue durag was caught causing a scene outside BOXPARK. In fact, he was pushing the security and staff around while unleashing a myriad of obscenities.

However, little did he expect he would come face-to-face with a former heavyweight. Francis knocked the heckler out with a brutal hard right.

Julius Francis was surely a brave soul to have stepped in the ring with ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’. The duo fought each other at the MEN Arena in Manchester on January 29, 2000.

Moreover, the bout marked Tyson’s first fight in the UK and in Europe. Additionally, British boxing fans were also on the edge of their seats at the prospective watching ‘Iron’ Mike live.

Francis showcased a stellar performance at the bout. However, he was no match for the indomitable Tyson, who knocked him out during the second round.
