Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield have teased a possible trilogy exhibition a few months back. However, it isn’t looking likely as there have been no official developments to the fight. Although Holyfield has revealed that he offered a challenge to Tyson’s team, he doesn’t seem to have received a response.

Meanwhile, Tyson appears busy with several projects, including his podcast. That said, former UFC star Chael Sonnen absolutely ridiculed the trilogy rumors. Moreover, he didn’t see the trilogy coming in the first place. Speaking with the fans on his podcast, Sonnen also bashed the reporters who broke the rumors of the fight.

“This fight is off, excuse me, when was it on? What do you mean, the fight between Evander and Tyson is off. Like, as though there was a press release that this was on,” said Sonnen.

‘The American Gangster added, “So then they start to work bad words right and only the dum-dums of boxing could put a story so fumbled together. And how could they get the dumb-dumb writers to write the dumb-dumb words. I mean, the whole thing is just a piece of hilarity.”

Meanwhile, Mike Tyson has hinted at appearing in exhibition bouts ahead. Following a successful scrap against Roy Jones Jr., he ended his 15-year-long hiatus from the ring. So, ‘Iron’ Mike can stun Sonnen and several fans by actually confirming an exhibition bout against his former foe Evander Holyfield.

Heavyweight boxing saw one of its vilest feuds when Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson collided. The two-fight rivalry was full of controversy and viciousness that saw ‘The Real Deal’ beat Tyson twice. However, the first win was a clear one.

After Holyfield knocked out Tyson in the first fight, the rematch happened within six months. However, it turned it to be a controversial fight as Tyson bit off a piece of Holyfield’s ear. So, it was ruled as a disqualification and ‘Iron Mike’ had to end the rivalry with zero wins.

That said, the heavyweight legends became friends later and are two of the prime ambassadors of the heavyweight division. While they have no more bad-blood, a trilogy clash at their dotage will not be less than any movie-like scenario.
