Even though the highly anticipated fight between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz is weeks away, the upcoming fight is already grabbing headlines. Notably, the two will face off on August 5th with both fighters looking to get their careers back on track. ‘The Problem Child’ is currently coming off a loss against Tommy Fury while Diaz left the UFC last year. And the two will be looking forward to establishing their reign in the boxing world.

Adding to the pre-fight drama, the Stockton native was visibly annoyed by the remarks made by one of Paul’s media team members. The insult was directed at 38-year-old former UFC fighter’s brother, Nick Diaz. And it seems the younger brother did not like it. Notably, during the presser, Derek from Betr Media asked Nate if he could compete in the undercard of the main event against his brother. He said, ” I am a boxer myself and I have been trying to get into this undercard. I was wondering if you think I could fight your brother Nick. If he is anything like you, I would beat his f*ckin a**.”

The response prompted Nate to speak up and warn the employee about disrespecting his brother. Paul then went on to call out Derek and told Diaz that he will be fired from the company. Moreover, it looks like Paul’s trainer Benjamin Flores has now come out and given his take on the matter.

Flores took to social media and weighed in on the situation. He criticized the media member for his behavior during the press conference, saying that he was being disrespectful to the Diaz brothers. Moreover, he claimed that people like him should not be allowed to speak at press conferences. “These clowns shouldn’t be allowed to talk. Smh” he wrote.

Altercations between fighters and reporters are not uncommon in combat sports. Tempers can flare in the heat of the moment, and sometimes, things can get physical. In some cases, fighters may feel that they are being disrespected by reporters which can lead to tense situations. This was exactly the case with this incident. However, thankfully it has not escalated any further. However, given Diaz’s past record of getting into altercations, it might not have been the best of ideas to provoke the  UFC veteran.

Mosley was an early coach of Paul when he was just starting out in boxing. However, he had to step back from coaching due to time constraints three years ago. But now, the former champion is able to commit to being a full-time coach again and will be joining Paul for his training camp in Puerto Rico.
