“They Are So Dehydrated They Can’t Even Cry”: Once Bankrupt Mike Tyson Gives Heart-Wrenching Reality Check About Poverty From Personal Experience

Mike Tyson was not born with a silver spoon. The former heavyweight champion of the world was not born ‘Iron’ Mike and had a very daunting childhood. He was born into a life of poverty, and as a child, there was nothing for him to do except get into a life of crime, resulting in him getting arrested 39 times before the age of 13. And, even though he became one of the most influential professional boxers of his time, he did not forget his roots. He is still connected to his childhood in one way or the other.

In the latest episode of his podcast, Mike Tyson shared something he witnessed which represented poverty beyond anyone’s wildest imagination. And talked about what stuck distinctly with him apart from all the other experiences.

Mike Tyson claims he has seen the “beast at its best”

The 56-year-old was joined by Columbian singer J Balvin and his co-host DJ Whoo Kid. Balvin started the discussion about the hardships people experience around the world and how poverty is seen everywhere. Adding to the discussion, Tyson shared something shocking he witnessed.

Tyson said, “I’ve seen kids that are so dehydrated they can’t even cry.” One can only imagine the sight Tyson described in the podcast, and it is safe to say that this incident Tyson shared is enough to send chills down the spine of the ones on the hearing end of it.

He further dived into the details and added, “Crystals come up with no water.” And further hinting towards the intensity of the incident, he said, “I’ve seen the beast at its best.” It seems like Tyson has witnessed some things one cannot comprehend at first. Meanwhile, on the podcast, Tyson emphasized the importance of good health.

It is not a secret that ‘Iron’ Mike had a childhood that really tests one’s humane side. The former heavyweight champion was born into a life of poverty and hardships. He never got to enjoy his school time as he was always the target of bullies who did not go by without bothering a young Tyson.

Moreover, Tyson did not take long to get into the world of crime and began stealing. But things changed when he met his mentor and father figure, Cus D’Amato, who trained him to become one of the most vicious fighters the world had ever seen.
