The fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is one of the most anticipated fights which has kept the fans engaged for quite some time now. But there is a problem that is holding back the fight from coming to fruition. Meanwhile, John Fury, Tyson Fury’s father has shed some light on the situation.

In an exclusive interview with Jonagh Corby, John Fury stated that the problem is about money and not paying ‘the Gypsy King’ enough for the ultimate showdown against the Ukrainian. It is safe to say that if both parties don’t arrive at a solution, then the ongoing problem might halt the fight further.

Undoubtedly, Fury vs Usyk is one of the most buzzing fights in the boxing world right now. The buzz about the fight started during the prestigious trilogy bout with Derek Chisora. Fury defeated Chisora for the third time and Usyk was present at ringside during the time. In his post-fight speech, Fury called out Usyk as his next opponent and that was the beginning of the rivalry.

However, it’s been a while since the intense face-off between the heavyweight giants in the ring. The fans are still waiting for an official confirmation of the bout. Meanwhile, the duo has been beefing in social media for a long time.

Top Rank boxing promoter, Bob Arum once claimed that the fight will take place from February to March in any of the three Middle Eastern countries. He hinted at huge investment from the Saudi Arabian investors, however, he also stated that if that does not happen then Wembley Arena will be the only place, where the fight could be held. After that, there is no official update as of now. As per reports, Saudi Arabia may not be holding the fight. Meanwhile, John Fury’s recent statement ignited the spark further.

John Fury sheds light on the Fury vs Usyk delay

Tyson Fury’s father John Fury explained some of the probable and realistic reasons for the fight not happening. During the interview, he said,
“That’s what the delay is with Tyson – they won’t pay him what he’s worth. They want him for nothing. They want to make the money, they want the lion’s share and to give Tyson the small end.”

He further stated that he is not ready to settle for a small share of the money. He added, “But that ain’t going to wash with us. It’s the Fury’s way, or the highway, we bow down to no one. We are the kings of the ring at the minute.”
