Rolando Romero has been at the center of a backlash from fans for his controversial stoppage win over Ismael Barroso. The WBA super-lightweight champion won the fight after the fight was stopped in the ninth round. Fans including other professional boxers have been questioning the stoppage. Notably, former undisputed women’s lightweight champion Claressa Shields also showed her disapproval and added to the outrage the boxing world is feeling about the fight between Romero and Barroso. Recently, she trolled Romero after a fan made a similar statement initially.

A fan posted on Twitter, commenting on a hypothetical fight between Romero and Shields. And, to everybody’s surprise, the ‘GWOAT’ responded to the tweet in her own witty way, taking a shot at the 28-year-old professional boxer. Shields is vocal about her beliefs, and recently, she came forward and urged the fans to show support for women’s sports.

Claressa Shields trolls Rolly Romero

Shields responded to the fan who wrote, “In a 12-round match for the 140lb title. I truly believe @claressashields could beat Rolly Romero for his belt. I really believe that.” This fan had a very odd remark. However, Shields being Shields, substantiated the claim the fan had made.

Responding to the fan, Shields wrote, “This a insult for real. Rolly may have 2 balls but that don’t mean he can win a fight against me.” The fan has deleted his comment since he posted it. The reason for Shields taking a dig at Romero seems unclear, as these two have not had any prior encounters in the past.

But, it is safe to say that the three-division world champion is in her own league when it comes to trash-talking. Claressa Shields is coming off a unanimous decision win over Savannah Marshall. Who is she fighting next?
