‘This is My Shining Moment’ – Mario Barrios is Looking to Make a Statement in His Next Fight Against Gervonta Davis

On June 26, Gervonta Davis will make his first super-lightweight showing. He will lock horns with the fellow undefeated boxer Mario Barrios. Barrios holds the WBA regular super-lightweight title, and he will put the same to the test against the resilient ‘Tank’.

‘El Azteca’ is supremely confident going into this fight and claiming a win. Recently talking to Boxing Scene, he said, “Fighting on Showtime PPV is a dream come true and an opportunity that I’m going to take full advantage of.

Gervonta Davis is a pound-for-pound champion, and it’s going to be an honor sharing the ring with him. This fight is my shining moment and the pinnacle of the boxing world, on the biggest stage possible. Boxing fans around the globe will be watching this fight and I’m coming to shock the world. To all my Mexican fans, I’m going to bring this historic victory home for La Raza.”

Barrios is one sublime talent in the 140-pound roster. Until now, he’s fought some extravaganza contenders but facing someone as rugged as ‘Tank’ will demand much more than his usual skill sets.

Over the past few years, Gervonta Davis has hooked in millions of fans with his eye-catchy performances. Also, he’s challenged himself at every step of his career, and has stepped up in a weight class whenever he wanted to. Moreover, every time he’s notched up in a weight class, Davis has only got better.

Gervonta Davis vs Mario Barrios – a high-voltage encounter

Davis and Barrioz are all set to go toe to toe against each other. The pair is in their absolute prime and this is just the ideal time for them to battle each other.

With his above comments, Barrios looks like he’s ready to take on the biggest challenge of his career. But underestimating Davis might put ‘El Azteca’ in a vulnerable state.

Davis is a sheer oppressor and it’ll be interesting to see if Barrios tackles his toughest opponent.
