Also, he knows exactly how one becomes a legend in the game. That is by going toe-to-toe against the best contenders of all time. That said, Garcia recently took it to his Twitter to express his eagerness in sharing the ring with one of the best prospects of this era in Gervonta Davis.

‘King Ry’ shared ‘Tank’s promoter, Leonard Ellerbe’s statement, wherein the latter revealed that he tried to book Davis against Garcia in March. Responding to the same, Garcia wrote, “This is the only fight that I want, would love to make this happen this year!! You know this Leonard!!”

Garcia took on Luke Campbell in his last fight. The duo locked horns for the WBC interim lightweight strap and ‘King Ry’ overcame adversity to stay unbeaten. The youngster bounced back and displayed a champion mindset to win this thrilling encounter and the interim belt.

Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta Davis – Will it happen at the lightweight landscape?

For now, Gervonta Davis has moved up to the super-lightweight roster, and he’s even claimed the WBA regular title there. Citing that, it seems ‘Tank’ won’t drop down to the lightweight roster again, until and unless he receives a mega challenge.

That said, Garcia has the tools to draw ‘Tank’ back to lightweight. However, he may have to face the other 135 pounders as Davis will have his defenses across divisions.

But this fight can also take place if ‘King Ry’ moves up in a weight class. With that, it’ll be interesting to see how things unfold between this undefeated pair.
