Moreover, at just 18 years old, Tyson’s neck had already grown to 20 inches, which was a lot for a teenager. While his genes played some part in his growth, he had another special exercise to further grow his abnormally large neck.

Tyson used the controversial neck bridge exercise where he put the whole weight of his body on the neck and moved back and forth. In addition, a video of his workout has resurfaced on social media with fans going into a frenzy watching ‘Iron Mike train his neck.

How Tyson’s training methods caused problems in his neck

It shouldn’t be surprising that Tyson’s neck took a huge toll while he was boxing professionally. However, the results of the injuries would plague ‘Iron Mike’ later on in his life. In 2013, he even had surgery done on his neck to remove the spinal pins which were inserted in his neck.
