Keyshawn Davis is coming off a fantastic win over Jose Pedraza and is on the prowl for his next opponent! Meanwhile, a boxing analyst for ESPN, Timothy Bradley, thinks he knows who can beat the unbeaten rising star. However, ‘The Businessman’ Davis is eyeing a fight against someone else entirely!

In a recent interview with Fight Hype, Davis and Oscar De La Hoya sealed the deal for a fight between him and Floyd Schofield. While Schofield is touted as one of the best-rising stars in the lightweight division, Bradley has another unbeaten prospect in mind, as shown in a tweet from Hot Boxing Minute today. Here’s a hint: the contender for Davis is coming off an eight-round TKO win over Diego Torres Nunez.

The X user shared a clip from a November 2023 fight between Raymond Muratalla and Diego Torres Nunez, where Bradley was commentating during the fight. Seeing the performance from Muratalla during the bout, Bradley claimed, “I am gonna say something right now that’s gonna piss off a lot o people.” And he proceeded to state, “Imma tell you right now, Muratalla right now will beat Keyshawn Davis.”

Muratalla is the WBO Global Lightweight champion with a 19-0 record, 16 of those wins coming from a knockout! What’s more, ‘Danger’ Muratalla will enter the ring again on March 29 against Agustin Ezequiel Quintana, so a fight against Davis is highly unlikely. What makes a fight between Davis and Muratalla even more unlikely is that the latter is hoping for a fight against someone else.

Lomachenko and Kombosos Jr. will face each other on 12 May at the RAC Arena, Perth in Sydney, Australia. The fight will have Kombosos’ WBO lightweight and the vacant IBF lightweight titles on the line. So, securing a fight against the winner of that fight would mean Muratalla would stand a chance to capture his first major title.

One take at a time

The first time boxing captured my attention, it was because of a line I heard in the film 'Rocky Balboa', a film surrounding boxing. The line went like this, "But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
