Ryan Garcia has been exchanging jabs with an opponent, not inside the square circle, but on social media. Ever since he came back to the negotiation table with Devin Haney, he has not shied away from putting down any criticism thrown at him. First, it was the former champion, Tim Bradley. Now, it seems he has found a target in “retired” Shakur Stevenson.
‘KingRy’ incensed the fire, and the verbal spat with Stevenson exploded as he mocked the latter for hanging up the boxing gloves. ‘Sugar’ shocked the boxing world with his retirement announcement after failing to secure a big fight. Garcia asked Stevenson to “stop the crying,” and what followed was a scathing back-and-forth exchange.

Shakur Stevenson responded with an image of Ryan Garcia taking a knee in the Gervonta Davis fight. Soon the 25-year-old would respond, “I respond after a tough performance you retire bc twitter bullied you.” This comment didn’t sit well with Stevenson, as he clarified that Garcia had evaded him and challenged him to fight him.
Tired of these retired fighters beefing with me man. First Tim and now Stevenson. Let go of the past it’s the new fighters turn you had your chance. https://t.co/6EC8Ggf53d

“Look at what these fighters do say slick sh*t on social media but say no to fighting me.. Bro ni**as been laughing at u since u turned pro u more YouTuber then boxer champ fight me or STFU Troll,” Stevenson wrote.
To this, Garcia mocked Stevenson for his retirement and clubbed him and Tim Bradley in the same bracket. “Tired of these retired fighters beefing with me man. First Tim and now Stevenson. Let go of the past it’s the new fighters turn you had your chance,” Garcia hit back.

While Stevenson announced Garcia was not “funny,” he again asked Garcia to hit him up to throw hands. But Garcia had the last laugh as he posted a visual of Stevenson dodging a punch and compared it to a singer jumping on a stage. This is the second time the Californian native has publicly lashed out in the last few days, previously blasting Tim Bradley.

‘KingRy’ clashed with Tim Bradley
Bradley and Garcia have shared a topsy-turvy dynamic. The former British champion recently called Garcia a “clown” and said he belonged in a “zoo” for the failed negotiations with Rolando Romero. The super lightweight boxer then questioned how ESPN allowed such an attack against him.

“How can @espnringside let this slide. I would never say that. I’m more hurt about that you let this slide,” Garcia asked, bafflingly. Currently, he is in talks with Devin Haney for his next fight, as he endeavors to become the champion and take his career to the next level.
