Francis Ngannou shocked Tyson Fury, but can he do it to Anthony Joshua? ‘The Predator’ believes he can, as he warned Eddie Hearn on Tuesday. Earlier this month, a fight between the former UFC heavyweight champion and the Londoner was announced to the public. The fight will unfold in Riyad, Saudi Arabia, much like the fight that made this one possible.

Originally, Deontay Wilder was supposed to face the former unified heavyweight champion on March 2, but his upset loss to Joseph Parker changed everything. That’s when Ngannou saw his opportunity and sealed the deal with Joshua. However, like Ngannou, Joshua’s promoter thinks he knows how the fight would go, something he detailed in a prior interview with Ariel Helwani. So, ‘The Predator’ saw the same interview fit for his take on Hearn’s comments.

Francis Ngannou claims Eddie Hearn is a creature of habit

During the interview on Helwani’s MMA Hour, the MMA journalist tried to create some drama by bringing up Hearn’s comments, where Hearn suggested it would be an “Easy Money” fight for AJ. Upon asking about the Cameroonian’s thoughts on the remarks, Ngannou jumped in with a scathing response. “Well, Eddie is a promoter, so that’s like a routine for him,” said the Las Vegas resident.

He further added that Hearn does this to AJ’s every opponent, implying it’s his job regardless of whether it’s valid. Reflecting on his upcoming fight two months from now, Ngannou described the consequences of overlooking his skills. “Man, the day is set – it’s two months from now, and if he [or] any of them think they are going to have an ‘easy money’ [fight], well, too bad for them,” said Ngannou. That aside, here’s what Hearn said about the fight between Ngannou and Joshua.

An Easy work for Anthony Joshua

In an October 31 interview with Helwani, Hearn claimed that a fight between Joshua and Ngannou would be one of the biggest in boxing history. He went on to claim, “I promise you this, respect to Francis, easy work for my man [Anthony Joshua]. Hearn suggested that after Ngannou’s excellent showing, the MMA community is high on pride, but a fight with Joshua would uncover the reality.

Later in the interview, the chairman of Matchroom Boxing asserted most people thought the Fury vs. Ngannou fight was farcical before Ngannou nearly defeated Fury. However, now they are at the point where they are speculating if Ngannou could defeat Joshua, who is in his prime. Moreover, when Helwani suggested he thinks Ngannou can beat Joshua, Hearn said, “Take my money, and I will show you what happens when Anthony Joshua fights Francis Ngannou, Easy Money.”

There are still a couple of months left in their fight to become real, and both sides seem confident in their capability to win. However, only time will tell if Ngannou’s excellent showing was just fluke. Who do you think would win?
