Joseph Diaz has called out Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia. The WBC interim titleholder went back and forth with Devin Haney and Garcia on Twitter. Since winning the interim title in July this year, Diaz has wanted a matchup against either Haney or Garcia.

He even moved up to one of the most star-studded divisions in boxing. Vasiliy Lomachenko, Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia, Gervonta Davis, and Teofimo Lopez all find themselves a part of the lightweight division. And after winning his first title at 126 pounds, he went up in weight twice.

He now fights at 135 and looks the most natural at 135. With no weight cuts, he is able to retain a lot of power and absorb punches well. His next fight will be his second in the division and he will go up against one of the title contenders.

“I can fight all the top guys at 135 pounds,” said Diaz. “I want Ryan Garcia or Devin Haney. Let’s make this s— happen. I’ve been sparring 160 pounders. I’ve always worked with bigger guys my whole life.”

The fights that are easily available for Diaz will be against Devin ‘The Dream’ Haney or Garcia. Both fight on DAZN and neither of them have any fights lined up next. On Twitter, Garcia and Haney also called Diaz out and looked to fight the interim titleholder.

The fight that makes the most sense for Joseph ‘JoJo’ Diaz will be against his fellow Mexican American Ryan Garcia. Garcia took a break from competing to take care of his mental health earlier this year. And he has always openly spoken about his experiences with anxiety and depression.

Now that Garcia has gone back to training with Eddy Reynoso in Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez’s gym, a comeback match against a fellow Mexican American would sell very well. Oscar De La Hoya’s ‘Golden Boy Promotions’ promotes both the fighters, so agreeing to terms would not be an issue.

A fight between the two would be the most high-profile fight of each of their careers. Fans always criticized Garcia for fighting easy fights and adding to his highlight reel. A bout against Diaz would help Garcia establish himself as a worthy title contender in the division. Would you want to watch Diaz take on Garcia?
