Unified light heavyweight titlist Artur Beterbiev is currently the only world champion with a 100% KO ratio. In 16 fights, he has knocked out 16 men to amass his status as one of the most feared boxers of this era. He is on a terrific run right now and a successful defense against Marcus Browne this week can fetch him bigger matchups in 2022.

Top Rank President Tod DuBoef is already optimistic about the Russian star’s surge. Having seen variant styles of fighters in his stable, DuBoef has hailed Beterbiev to differ from everyone. In a chat with Sky Sports, Tod DuBoef told, “Beterbiev is the opposite of Vasiliy Lomachenko stylistically.”

Du Boef added, “He will hunt you down, take what you’ve got, and take your head off! He is as exciting as anyone. Everybody wants to watch him in the ring. The biggest thing for him is: what’s next? Does he get a shot at Canelo? What are his opportunities?” (H/T:- Boxing Scene)

Canelo Alvarez was to face Artur Beterbiev before he faced Caleb Plant in an undisputed 168 lbs fight. While Alvarez became the undisputed super middleweight champion in November, he can move up to 175 lbs and challenge Beterbiev in a fan-favorite matchup. Alvarez will move up to the cruiserweight division and challenge Ilunga Makabu for the WBC belt. Thus, Beterbiev vs Alvarez can still take years to happen.

Artur Beterbiev is taking all the glory on him

In just six years of professional action, Artur Beterbiev has seen tremendous success. While fighters of his time are still leaping the title race, Beterbiev is already on a similar scale with Alvarez. Although his resume will demand a lot more success ahead, Beterbiev is already walking the right path.

The light heavyweight division looks all stacked up, and unification cash against Dmitry Bivol is also on the line for the Russian KO-artist. Meanwhile, a change of mind in Canelo Alvarez can see the Mexican enter the light heavyweight division again. In that case, Top Rank can pitch Beterbiev as one of the most valid opponents for the P4P king. The fight has already been a matter of discussion for years, and can finally happen somewhere down the line.
