Trainer Reveals Greatest Learnings From Mike Tyson and Says “Iron Mike” is ‘The Real Man’

Mike Tyson had joined hands with MMA mastermind Rafael Cordero for his boxing return at the age of 54 last year. ‘Iron’ shook the entire combat world by announcing his comeback fight against Roy Jones Jr and showcased sheer prowess in his early training clips.
Despite the age, Tyson looked fierce during his training with Cordero and the duo eventually succeeded as Tyson seemed the aggressor in the exhibition bout. Although the fight was declared a draw, Mike Tyson looked more promising under certain parameters.
While it has been months since then, Rafael Cordero has newly looked back at his experience with Tyson. He reflected on the features that he learned from the ‘Baddest Man On the Planet’ while training him.

In a chat with ES News, Rafael Cordero said, “Be humble, he has all the success that he success that he has in life He treat his people with humbleness ness you know and I learned every single day with him about boxing about life. I learned from, how can I tell, the real man. The guy that had everything in his life and lost and got everything again with different values.
“So, it’s a nice thing to work with somebody that you have as an idol and I have Mike as an idol.”
Although Mike Tyson was known for his loud mouth and brashy nature in his prime, he has shown some prominent changes in his dotage.
