There is no denying that WBA (Regular) lightweight champion, Gervonta Davis, and the former WBC interim lightweight titleholder, Ryan Garcia, are two of the strongest names in the lightweight division. Moreover, their April 2023 showdown is one of the most highly anticipated events in the division. Meanwhile, four-division world champion Adrien Broner recently shared his thoughts on the potential outcome of the fight.

Broner is currently scheduled to face Ivan Redkach for a sensational welterweight showdown. This will be Broner’s first fight after being MIA for close to two years.

Adrien Broner shares his thoughts on Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta Davis

The interviewer seemed curious to know Adrien Broner’s thoughts on how Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis would fare. It is also worth mentioning that Broner is Davis’ training partner.

In response, Broner said, “I’m pretty y’all know whose side I’m on. Of course, I’m with Tank. But, I think it’s going to be a more, it’s going to be a bigger fight than we think. As far as in the ring. I know it’s going to be a big fight for the fans.”

Moreover, he pressed the fact that the fight will be a lot more competitive. He said, “In the ring, it’s going to be a more competitive fight than people think. But, I think Tank’s skills is just above these guys. And plus he’s got the showstopper.”

However, Broner was quick to point out that if Davis is focused, he would have no trouble beating Garcia.

He was further asked why he believed Garcia would be a challenging opponent for Davis. In response, Broner shed light on Garcia’s skill set and pugilistic prowess.

He said, “Because man, Ryan’s no pushover. Tank knows this. Me and him talked about this, he knows. He ain’t no pushover, he ain’t taking it lightly at all. And you know Ryan’s going to come in and really try to win this fight.”

Broner also mentioned that he is close to both Garcia and Davis. And that it would be a good fight for boxing fans.
