Though the date and venue are verified, the final challenger still remains to be decided.

Mike Coppinger, a boxing insider, took to Twitter and broke out the news. He wrote, “Sources: George Kambosos is slated to make first defense of undisputed lightweight championship on June 5 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. June 5 is a Sunday which allows for prime-time U.S., telecast on June 4. Fight expected against Vasiliy Lomachenko or Devin Haney.”

‘The Emperor’ thrashed the then-undefeated champ, Teofimo Lopez, in the unified title clash. Among heavy odds in the jam-packed stadium of Madison Square Garden, George Kambosos Jr hammered the biggest upset of the year. For the uninitiated, the heavy underdog sent the spark through the boxing world as he took over ‘The Takeover’ and became the first Australian pugilist to crown WBO, WBA, IBF, and WBC title belts.
Since then, the overnight star is in limelight. Moreover, he took to social media platforms and exchanged pretty intense remarks with other lightweight contenders. As of now, the most probable opponents are the Ukrainian star Vasyl Lomachenko, and WBC lightweight champ, Devin Haney.
Among the two, Loma is most likely to exchange leather with spartan. As negotiation talks between promoters of ‘Ferocious’ and Haney did not go well. However, this duo was highly anticipated to slugfest as they had created an intense hype on the internet.
