The lightweight division and the boxing fraternity as a whole are currently waiting for one of the most explosive showdowns of the season. The three-division world champion, Gervonta Davis is all set to face lightweight phenom, Ryan Garcia for an April 15 lightweight spectacle. While the hype for this highly anticipated fight builds up, it looks like Davis is on a quest to make amends with former foes. And was even seen shaking hands with the former WBA interim lightweight titleholder, Rolando Romero.

Davis defended his WBA (Regular) lightweight title against Romero on May 28, 2022. Moreover, the venue for the fight was the iconic Barclays Center in New York City. In the sixth round of the fight, Rolando made a tiny misstep by leaving his head exposed. And, in turn, gave Davis an opportunity to end the fight with a knockout finish.

Romero, on the other hand, showed commendable composure after losing. And even penned a heartfelt note, saying, “Thank you to Gervonta for accepting this fight. My team, family, and everyone who came out and sold-out Barclays. Making this the highest-grossing and most-attended boxing event in Barclay’s history. And to those who tuned in on PPV.”

Meanwhile, Davis and his team recently ran into Romero, outside the Mayweather Boxing Club. The duo proceeded to shake hands and exchange pleasantries. It sure looks like they have set aside their differences after their fight.

Boxing fans were intrigued after seeing Davis and Romero sharing a friendly conversation. Especially owing to the fact that the duo had a few heated moments prior to their fight. In fact, a lot of them took to social media to share their thoughts about the same.
