WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has had a rocky 2023, unable to find an opponent. At the start of the year, many speculated that he would face unified champion Oleksandr Usyk in a match that would give the boxing world the first heavyweight undisputed champ in two decades, since Lennox Lewis. However, the fight fell through after failed negotiations from both camps. Following this, ‘The Gypsy King’ set his sights on his fellow countryman Anthony Joshua and even revealed on social media that he sent a contract to the Briton.

Despite this, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn claimed that there was no formal contract but rather an email sent to him. The offer was rejected by ‘AJ’ who wanted to face Fury in August to prepare for a showdown with Deontay Wilder in December. Now, after getting two potential fights canceled, Fury has another contender wanting to fight him.

American heavyweight contender Jarrell Miller was quick to call out the WBC champion. He took to social media and uploaded a video, calling Fury out and asking him to get his team in touch. Moreover, he seemed confident that he would become the one to give Fury his first-ever loss.

It’s your boy, Big Baby Miller, here, the original, the one and only, talking shit and backing it up. Listen, man, my boy Tyson Fury, aka The Gypsy King, heard you’re looking for an opponent. But listen, cut the s**t. You know the only best and biggest option is your boy, Big Baby, right here. Not personal, it’s business. Your people call my people, work on them dollar signs, and we get it cracking. The Gypsy King vs. Big Baby has a nice ring to it. It’ll be my official honor to beat your a*s and give you your first loss,” he said.

Miller is set to compete on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather’s upcoming exhibition bout against John Gotti III. He will compete in a four-rounder with undefeated heavyweight Antonio Zepeda. However, it seems that ‘Big Baby’ is more keen on securing a title bout with the champion. Fury has also responded to this call-out video and might just be thinking about facing Miller next.

Fury gives a cryptic response to Miller’s call-out

‘The Gypsy King’ shared the video on his Instagram Story and replied with some thinking emojis. Although he has not come out clearly claiming he would face the American, he has certainly not refused it either.

Miller last fought Lucas Browne in March, where he won via knockout in the sixth round. Fury on the other hand has not competed since his title defense against Derek Chisora in a trilogy.

Now that negotiations for a bout with Joshua have failed, Miller might just be Fury’s pick for a tune-up fight. Moreover, if the WBC champion wants to face Oleksandr Usyk in December, this could possibly be a fight he could take up for now. What are your thoughts on Miller’s callout? In addition, if the two decide to dish it out in the ring, how do you see the fight playing out? Let us know in the comments below.
