In an interview with BT Sport Boxing, an interviewer asked Fury his opinion on Deontay ‘The Bronze Bomber’ Wilder. The interviewer told Fury that he felt Wilder was one of the most devastating punchers in modern boxing history. Fury replied, saying, “Incorrect. I am. He was the biggest puncher in history and then I knocked him out, so that makes me the biggest puncher, the toughest puncher.”
Fury also went on to state, “He’s only a threat in somebody’s nightmares, but he’s no threat to me. What’d I say last time, I said I’m gonna drop him, I’m gonna knock him and I’m gonna smash him. This time, I’m gonna absolutely obliterate him.”
Fury is oozing with confidence ahead of their trilogy fight. A successful title defense from Fury could land him a bout against fellow Brit Anthony Joshua for the remaining belts in the division.
