Tyson Fury Reveals Strategy to Beat Usyk and It’s Not Very Smart

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has set his sights on unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk after months of back and forth between the two. However, Fury must first face Derek Chisora on December 3 if he wants a chance to face Usyk for the undisputed title.
Initially, this bout was in jeopardy of never taking place, but after Usyk expressed his interest in facing ‘The Gypsy King’ in 2023. It looks like Fury is also keen on taking on the Ukrainian champion. Moreover, he even revealed his strategy to beat Usyk if a potential bout between them does take place. In an interview with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, Fury revealed that Usyk will be his next opponent if all goes well with ‘Del Boy’. He then claimed that he would ‘head hunt’ Usyk if he faced him in the ring.

“Usyk is at the top of the shopping list, providing I get through this one and it’s not a rematch with Chisora for the fourth time. It’ll be Usyk, yeah, headhunting, and ill tell you now what people will say when I flatter Usyk. They’ll say he’s too small or was a mismatch. He was never any good to. Tyson, it was a mismatch. Whatever. then we move on,” said Fury.
‘Tyson Did Damage to Him’: Derek Chisora Slams ‘Emotional’ Deontay Wilder
Despite Fury being confident that he will beat Usyk just due to his massive size advantage, ‘head-hunting’ him might not be the best way to go about it. However, we have seen that ‘The Cat’ is more than capable of being in the ring with bigger opponents, which was perfectly on display during his two bouts with Anthony Joshua.
Tyson Fury expresses interest in facing Deontay Wilder for the fourth time
The Gypsy King recently revealed that he could also face his longtime rival Deontay Wilder for the fourth time. Fury has beaten Wilder twice during their epic heavyweight trilogy, but the fights were much closer than expected. However, a fight between the two could only take place if these conditions by Fury are met. “Providing he [Wilder] gets through that fight [Ruiz Jr] and I get through mine. And if the Oleksandr Usyk fight cannot be made in February, I will have a mandatory by April, he will have to come to Wembley in April.” said Fury.

A fourth fight between the two might sound a little repetitive. However, the first three fights between them were great heavyweight clashes and certainly entertaining fights. Wilder also filtered with retirement since this bout but has come back in spectacular fashion, knocking out Robert Helenius in the first round in his comeback fight.
