

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has spoken about his alternate career, if not for boxing. The undefeated fighter who comes from a rich boxing heritage responded in the most ‘Tyson Fury’ manner you can think of.

Fury is on the cusp of securing one of the biggest fights in boxing’s recent history. However, the champion seems to be relaxed and has been busy fulfilling media obligations over the past few weeks.

In doing so, he spoke to Gareth A Davies on YouTube. Tyson addressed the question of what he would be if not for boxing. He replied, “I would have been successful at anything I did. You know why? Because I’ve got the mindset of, I have to do it. Being successful is all about having the right mindset.”
The champion then added, “So whatever I would have chosen, I would have been the best at. Whether it’s painting, Decorating, being a joiner, anything, a plumber… I’d have to be the best at what I did.”
These comments also showed why he has been so successful in the sport.

Boxing was always the only option for Tyson Fury
The 6’9” giant was destined to be a boxer right from the start. He comes from the proud fighting background of the Gypsies. Moreover, his father was a bare-knuckle boxer, and that set the tone for the Englishman.

It does stop there. Fury was born pre-mature and faced a lot of complications. However, his father realized he was a fighter and decided to name him after boxing legend Mike Tyson. Therefore, it was almost as if Fury was born to be a boxer.

The champion has not disappointed either. He is a two-time heavyweight champion of the world, having beaten two of the most dominating champions to get there. Moreover, he has fought difficult battles outside the ring, which is a testament to his reputation as a ‘fighter’.
