Their first fight ended in a majority draw as both fighters failed to show the judges anything decisive. In the second bout, Fury dismantled his opponent in a technically superior display of boxing and won the WBC belt.

Testing times for Tyson Fury

Ahead of his trilogy fight, Tyson Fury became a father for the sixth time. Paris Fury gave birth to Athena Fury. However, the joy soon turned to grief as they shifted the newborn to the ICU. Subsequently, Fury raised funds to thank the hospital where his daughter was admitted.

Later, his father, John Fury, spoke about how important family was to Tyson. He also revealed that he would cancel the fight if the situation got worse for the Fury family.

“Without family, you can’t function right. Your family has got to be intact, coz if you’re a happy family man and you know things are right at home, you’re gonna perform right yourself… If problems persist, we will cancel the fight. I’ll cancel the fight, coz nobody would expect people to perform under these duress circumstances.”

‘The Gypsy King’ will look to defend his belt against ‘The Bronze Bomber’ on October 9. In the build-up to the fight, Fury has been talking all kinds of trash against his American foe.

However, Wilder, who has not been reacting to any of Fury’s disses, seems very calm. Even during the press conference, Wilder sat with his headphones on. At times, he didn’t even answer questions posed by the reporters.

What do you think will happen in the clash of the heavyweights on October 9? Do you think it will go ahead?
