WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury needs an opponent for getting back to action in December, and someone needs to fill the void created by Deontay Wilder.

That said, it has opened up the gate for several heavyweight contenders to bill themselves as the most deserving ones. While Tyson Fury has desired to face Anthony Joshua amongst all, one of his former foes believes that he deserves a crack at ‘The Gypsy King’ over anyone else.

Tagging himself as Fury’s toughest opponent, Otto Wallin said that he has evolved a lot since their original fight in 2019 and offered to paint a different picture in the rematch. That said, Wallin gave a hard time to ‘The Gypsy King’ a couple of times and left him bloodied. Thus, he is ready to step up in December and welcome Tyson Fury back in action.

In an interaction with IFL TV, the Swedish heavyweight said that he has performed better than other boxers against Fury. Before knocking out Wilder in 2020, Tyson Fury danced with Wallin in October 2019.

The pair went to the distance and Wallin pushed the Briton to the corner multiple times. However, Tyson Fury rose back to heights and won the fight via unanimous decision.

Recalling the fight, Wallin said, “You just have to look at our fight and his other fights and you see that I did a lot better than Wilder and anybody else, and I learned a lot more punches, and I had him cut two places. And I felt like, If I had those cuts, the fight would definitely have been stopped, so I think because of those reasons, I should get the rematch.”

Even if Wallin doesn’t get the crack instantly, he is still relevant in the title mix. Boasting a pro-record of 21-1, he is one of the top-gunners right now. Even Tyson Fury called him one of the hardest opponents ever.

Nevertheless, Fury has many more options ahead, and he might not want to run it back with some of his past opponents. Still, we cannot stop dreaming about the intense rematch between ‘The Gypsy King’ and the Swedish gladiator.
