“Tyson Will Kill These Guys!”- Trainer Backs Mike Tyson to Finish Deontay Wilder Under 1 Minute

The world regards Mike Tyson as one of the greatest to ever step into the boxing ring. With a daunting attitude and insane knock out power, he redefined the limits that boxers can attain to be the best in the business.
Of the 50 wins he has to his name, 44 came by the way of K.Os. This speaks volumes about the immense strength that the 5’10” Heavyweight housed.
Speaking of knock-out wins, arguably the best K.O artist in today’s boxing scene is Deontay Wilder. “The Bronze Bomber” has 42 victories to his name, with 41 by the way of K.O.

However, “Iron” Mike’s former trainer and himself a boxing legend, Jeff Fenech, does not seem pretty impressed with Wilder. Let alone Wilder, he is of the view that boxers as a demographic have undergone a change. He believes that the fighters of today are not as competent as the boxers back in the day.
He said, “Boxing’s not the same now. I’d guarantee that if Mike Tyson trained for six weeks, he’d knock Wilder out in a minute”.
Fenech does acknowledge Wilder’s bizarre punching power but feels that he has weak chin can easily be exploited.
“They’re not on the same level today”- Jef Fenech compares today’s boxers with Mike Tyson
Carrying on with the comparisons, Fenech said, “He would hit them. If these guys are getting knocked out by Tyson Fury; who’s a great fighter, but not a huge puncher; Tyson would kill these guys.
Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder met for their rematch earlier this year. In a lopsided match, “The Gypsy King” rained endless flurries on Wilder. And even though he knocked Wilder down twice, he did not manage to score a knockout.

“They’re not on the same level today”, Fenech said. “Mike, today, I reckon if he trained he could still beat these guys. Fury’s got these other skills, but Deontay Wilder’s got a punch and nothing else. If you punch him, it’s over. And Mike [doesn’t] miss.”

There is little evidence available to back Fenech’s claims regarding the Wilder’s weakness. After all, he has only lost one fight. And in that fight itself, he showed extreme resilience and stood his ground till the very end, even with his eardrum messed up. The fight ended with Wilder’s corner throwing in the towel, something which he wasn’t very pleased with.
Yet, Mike Tyson is a devastating puncher. The mean strikes he throws have gotten the best of the greatest boxers of his time.
