‘UFC Could Never’: Boxing World Reacts to Special Division for Transgenders

Over the years, there have been various instances of transgender athletes participating in sporting events. Entities and aficionados have frequently discussed it in debates. There haven’t been many occurrences like this in boxing, though. But before that could happen, the WBC declared a separate division for transgender sportspersons.

The World Boxing Council (WBC) recently announced that starting in 2023, the organization will have a separate division for athletes who identify as transgender. They might thus be prohibited from competing against cisgender people. As per reports, a league or competition would be established, and protocols would be developed.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has recently revealed, “We do not yet know the numbers that there are out there, but we’re opening a universal registration in 2023.”

Fans have been debating this news since it was announced. Some people have criticized this decision, and to contradict them, one fan wrote, “Stop the complaints. Good decision.”

One user mentioned American influencer-boxer Adam Saleh and wrote, “ADAM SALEH GONNA BE THE CHAMP IN THIS DIVISION.”

While a positive note came along stating, “Fairest way to do it” 

Another boxing enthusiast said, “Ufc could never…”

“That’s pretty good, won’t be any bitchboys complaining and whining about trans men and women in other divisions.”

A supporter of the new idea of introducing a division for transgenders said, “Finally they got some common sense and made a league of their own” 

When a transgender athlete proved to be a big threat in MMA 

Fallon Fox, an MMA fighter, came out as transgender. In 2014, Tamikka Brents and Fox got into an MMA bout at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Illinois, the United States. But during the fight, something happened that surprised everyone.

Apparently, Fox defeated her opponent in the very first round, shattering Brents’ skull. It was the focus of heated discussion at the time. Brents admitted that she had never felt that weak to any of her opponents.

Despite the fact that Fox self-identifies as transgender, it is believed that her male traits allowed her to hurt Brents viciously.
