Boxing legend Mike Tyson was one of the most feared men on the planet. This could be due to his ferocious style of boxing, where he ended the fights in just minutes, destroying his opponents in the process. However, former UFC champion and MMA legend Ken Shamrock thinks Tyson would not do so well against him.

Shamrock recently joined the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast and discussed what would happen if he ever decided to fight Iron Mike in the ring. He stated that although he certainly would be at a disadvantage if the two were to box, the same can not be said for an MMA match.
“I’ve heard talk about it, but nothing from him and nothing from me either. It just was talk… I ain’t crazy, right? I mean I know how good Mike is with his boxing so if I was to box him and not to say I don’t have a problem doing that because I love to fight. But, I’m not stupid enough to realize that, hey, I’m gonna go out and outbox Mike Tyson because I can’t. But I hope he realizes the same thing and he wouldn’t be stupid to realize he could take me in an MMA fight because that wouldn’t happen either.” He said.
This was not all, as he even revealed how Tyson would fare against him in an MMA match and the advantages he would have over ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’.

Shamrock added that wrestling would be the ultimate decider in this match. He stated that despite Tyson’s innate power, he would not be able to use it effectively while being taken down. He then concluded by claiming that if Tyson boxed him, it would be a hard night for him. However, if they competed in MMA, it would be a long night for Tyson.

“In the world that I live in, trying to hit somebody when they’re trying to take you down. If you happen to do hit ‘em, you don’t got no power. There’s no power when you’re shooting on somebody and your timing is way off. You’re not able to turn your hips over, you can’t really get under it. So it’s very difficult to catch somebody when they’re doing a low shot on you and be able to hurt ‘em. It would be a rough night for Mike but if it was boxing, it would be a rough night for me.” He added.

The former UFC champ does make sense as he assessed this hypothetical matchup. Moreover, given Shamrock’s wrestling pedigree, it would be hard for Tyson to get the victory in an MMA match.
